Dev Log #5
Hello! After some time of being unfortunately preoccupied, tis I Chelsea! The Design Lead for Team Hyperion!
This past week has shown a lot of work done between all of us working on Obituary!
Starting with our Producer and Tech Lead, Andrew, he has been working very hard on the inventory pick up and UI! Currently it is in mostly working condition with select multiples of items such as ammo being able to stack on-top of each other with a click and drag.
With Charlie, our Art Lead, he has been very busy working on all the designs of the props where he has officially finished the Research Base props. They are looking so awesome and I can't wait to see them modelled out as the week progresses!

Our 3D Modeller and Market Lead, Arnold, has been very busy with modelling and rigging Obituary's newest enemy! He is some weird alien mantis looking creature and he is so creepy; I LOVE IT. This will definitely add to the horror factor of Obituary!

As for me, although I cannot say much as of recently for I've been preoccupied, I had finished replacing one of the puzzles in the ship part of the game to go through to the crew cryochambers with a more fitting puzzle that isnt too difficult. The idea with this puzzle is to match the sliders to the right indicators; of which the player will be given a note (in due time it isn't implemented quite yet) that gives the answer!

(Last image is in-game using the in-built Unity UI Sliders for functionality!)
I have also been working on the Fusebox puzzle where the player will just need to go around to 7 fuse-boxes to bring power back to the Research Base; 3 of the boxes will a 1 fuse missing so the player will need to go on a small scavenger hunt around the level. This hasn't been implemented yet, but the coding is very slowly coming along.

(The idea of the lever for the fuse box is it will also use the in-built Unity UI Slider.)
And finally I had also modelled some basic props that the research base is littered with! These are by no means final, just props to use temporarily so we know how the level will look while the actual props are being modelled by Arnold!

(All of these models were made by using the Unity Package, Probuilder! A very useful package to use if you are wanting to quickly model something basic before a refined model is made in maya/blender/etc!)
With that, that is everything to say regarding the work that has been done over the past week! The next will be seeing Arnold in discussing all that has been done over the break week! Talk to you all later!
:)
